In Peru, an 88-year-old man woke up from an emergency amputation only to discover that his healthy foot had been accidentally cut off instead of his damaged one. The man had gone into the hospital to treat an ulcer and when the infection began to spread, doctors had no choice but schedule an amputation for the infected foot. In an horrible turn of events, doctors severed the wrong foot instead and after they realized their unfortunate mistake, they had to move quickly to remove the damaged one to keep the infection from spreading further. The hospital learned of their mistake after the patient’s daughter lifted his sheets and discovered that they had removed the wrong foot. All doctors involved in the botched surgery have been put on indefinite suspension and a thorough investigation has been launched.

Oh my god. Seriously how stupid do you have to be to amputate the wrong foot?! I mean- Check the patients charts until you begin the operation! How much you wanna bet he sues the hell out of that hospital?

Woah. How stupid can people get? Soon they will end up cutting someones head off by accident during a simple Appendix removal. ^^ But Curtis, where do you get these stories? They’re all so spine tinglingly interesting!
You know my mom told me when she was 13, she was going to the doctor to get her tonsils taken, out and when she passed out on her medicine the nurses started running her upstairs. Well, my grandma asked them what they we’re doing ,and they said “we’re taking her to do her tubal ligation”

Oh, that really sucks, I wonder if they can sue the hospital or the doctors and don’t let them get away with that kind of mistake, because I live right next to Peru and I know of some cases in my country where doctors really screwed up and nothing happened to them.
What exactly is there to investigate… They cut off the wrong damn foot. Case closed.
