Hello Fiends,

Here is another excerpt from a little book of death poems I am working on called ’101 Ways To Die, Accidents, Murders, And Other Techniques To Lose A Life.’ I wrote this back in May when I was watching a prom couple enjoying a fancy meal at the five star restaurant know as McDonald’s.

Head Over Heels, Or At Least It’s Supposed To Be

Such a special event
The night of your prom
Perfect hair, perfect dress
Just try to remain calm

The butterflies take flight
Everything feels so new
Tonight you’re a princess
Fairy tales do come true

A long black limousine
Parked right outside
Never thought he would ask
Now you sit by his side

As you sail down the road
The sunroof retracts
You jump to your feet
Peek your head out the gap

The starry night sky
As beautiful as can be
Up ahead by the road
Stands a low hanging tree

Once you notice the branch
It’s much too late to stop
It collides with your skull
Ripping your head clean off

Who drowned in a pool
B is for Billy
Who was eaten by ghouls
C is for Curt
With disease of the brain
D is for Daniel
Derailed on a train
E is for Erik
Who was buried alive
F is for Frank
Who was stabbed through the eye
G is for Greg
Who died in the womb
H is for Heather
Who was sealed in a tomb

One by one, we bite the dust
We kick the bucket and begin to rust
Give up the ghost when your number’s up
We all fall down
Ashes to ashes, bones to paste
You’ll wither away in your resting place
Eternity in a wooden case
We all fall down

I is for Isaac
Who lost his front brakes
J is for Johnny
Who was bitten by snakes
K is for Kimmy
Who was shot in the head
L is for Larry
Who bled and bled
M is for Marie
Who burned to a crisp
N is for Nicki
Who was pummled by fists
O is for Olivia
Who lived life too fast
P is for Pat
Who swallowed some glass

Q is for Quentin
Who took the wrong trail
R is for Reyna
Who rotted in jail
S is for Steve
Who was shot with a bow
T is for Tori
Who froze in the snow
U is for Urich
Who was trampled by hooves
V is for Vanessa
Who fell off a roof
W is for Will
Who was hit by a car
X is for Xavier
Who sunk in the tar
Y is for Yessy
Who fell from a plane
Z is for Zack
Who simply went

Insane

Hello Fiends,

Here is another excerpt from a little book of death poems I am working on called ’101 Ways To Die, Accidents, Murders, And Other Techniques To Lose A Life.’ Most of the deaths in the song ‘A Gorey Demise’ from my band ‘Creature Feature’ are based off poems I was writing at the time. This one was the basis for “S is for Steve who was shot with a bow.” Poor little unfortunate Stevie.

It Is Certainly Off Course, Of Course, Of Course

No more school
Summer is finally here
Now it’s off to boys camp
After a long boring year

With your bags all packed
Leave the parents behind
No homework, no chores
It’s time to unwind

Hike through the trails
Swim in the lakes
Awaken every morning
To the smell of hot cakes

While waiting in line
At the archery range
You spot a lizard
And a chase is engaged

Into the dry brush
You quickly follow
Suddenly a camper
Releases his longbow

Far from the bull’s-eye
He’ll soon feel remorse
You’ve been stuck in the head
By an arrow off course

This is an excerpt from a little book of death poems I’m working on called “101 Ways To Die, Accidents, Murders, And Other Techniques To Lose A Life.” There will be many more of these to come in the near future.

Remember When We Were Spontaneous, Now We’re Just Combustible

There is nothing better
When your legs start to hurt
Than sitting in your recliner
After a day of hard work

A beer in one hand
Cigarette in the other
The television flickers
As sleep begins to smother

Your muscles unwind
Rapid heart beat slows down
Breath becomes shallow
Now only blackness surrounds

Your cold beverage spirals
To the carpet below
Followed by your cancer stick
And a flame begins to grow

It starts with the rug
Then moves toward the chair
Ignites your clothing
Then your body hair

You awaken much too late
In this situation most dire
Just to scream out loud
While you are consumed by fire
